MEX Berlin 2026 Celebrates Anime, Manga and Japanese Pop Culture

Article

Berlin’s Meeting Place for Manga and Entertainment

MEX, short for Manga & Entertainment Expo, takes place at Messe Berlin from October 23 to 25, 2026. Berlin’s official tourism listing describes a trade and public fair covering anime, manga, gaming and Japanese pop culture. That combination brings commercial exhibitors and participatory fan activities into the same event.

Several Ways to Join In

The announced formats include exhibitor and sales areas, workshops, stage performances and cosplay events. Visitors can approach the weekend through browsing, watching or taking part. These are confirmed program categories; this article does not claim a particular guest lineup, competition schedule or workshop booking arrangement.

Japanese Pop Culture in a German Setting

The interesting story is what happens around the imported works: people build costumes, share interests and meet others who recognize the same characters. MEX provides a local setting for that community activity. The international perspective comes from how a Japanese cultural reference becomes something people can participate in together in Berlin.

Planning for Messe Berlin

The published location is Messe Berlin, near the Funkturm exhibition halls. Check the tourism listing’s event links for current admission arrangements and the detailed program before planning a particular activity. No ticket price, opening hour or remaining availability is asserted here.

One Event in a Wider European Calendar

MEX is a separate Berlin event from MCM London Comic Con and Autumn MondoCon in Budapest. TBM covers those gatherings individually because location, organizers and programs matter when choosing where to go. Comparing them offers a more useful view of European fandom than treating every anime-related event as interchangeable.
