A new tower at Tokyo Station

TOFROM YAESU TOWER, developed by Tokyo Tatemono as part of the Yaesu 1-chome East Area redevelopment, opened on September 10, 2026 on the Yaesu side of Tokyo Station. The tower stands 51 stories and approximately 250 meters tall.

The building is directly connected underground to JR Tokyo Station and the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line via the existing Yaesu underground shopping network.

55 shops open on day one

Of roughly 68 to 70 planned shops and restaurants across the Tower and the adjoining, smaller TOFROM YAESU THE FRONT building, 55 opened inside the Tower on September 10. Highlights include the 170-year-old restaurant Kappo Shimamura, a new concept from Michelin-starred tempura restaurant Ten Yokota called Ten Yokota Asu e, and a new restaurant from Yakitori Omino called Omino Shizuku.

Opening celebrations, including DJ performances and complimentary drinks at the ground-floor Himonocho Square, run from September 10 to 18. The remaining stores are scheduled to open progressively from winter 2026 onward.

More than just shopping

Beyond retail and dining, the TOFROM YAESU district also includes offices, a theater, conference facilities, a bus terminal, and medical facilities, reflecting its designation as a new MICE hub directly connected to Tokyo Station.

A major new landmark directly at one of Tokyo's most-visited transit hubs, with a mix of historic and contemporary dining opening on day one, is genuinely new and visually strong — not a routine store opening.

Tokyo Station's Yaesu side is a top-tier gateway for both commuters and international visitors, and the TOFROM YAESU district (the Tower plus the smaller TOFROM YAESU THE FRONT building) has been designated a National Strategic Special Zone redevelopment, positioning it as a new MICE (conference/theater) hub for the area, not just a shopping complex.
