Art Week Tokyo 2026 Turns Gallery Hopping Into a Way to Explore the City

「アートウィーク東京2026」ギャラリー巡りで東京の街を発見する

Article

Art Week Tokyo 2026 connects more than 50 art institutions and spaces across the city from November 4 through 8, 2026 — turning a week of exhibitions, talks, and parties into a way to discover Tokyo itself.

Free Programs, No Reservation

AWT FOCUS and AWT VIDEO both run November 4–8, 10:00–18:00, free admission with no reservation required. Alongside these, the program includes a Kids/Youth Art Walk and Workshop (Nov 4–8), collector-beginner meetups (Nov 4–6), and a partner program with Tokyo Jazz Club (Nov 4–6, 17:00–23:00).

AWT × SHIBUYA PARCO ART NIGHT runs November 4, 20:00–24:00 — a distinct, separately-timed evening program.

An Ecosystem, Not One Venue

More than 50 art institutions and spaces participate in the broader Art Week Tokyo ecosystem, each running its own exhibitions and programs under different admission rules, reservation requirements, and opening hours — there is no single universal schedule or ticket covering everything.

The real idea behind the event is discovering Tokyo through art: visitors move across neighborhoods and venues rather than staying inside one convention center, making the city itself part of the experience.

What To Know

Rather than one convention hall, Art Week Tokyo spreads across more than 50 locations — meaning visitors genuinely move through the city to discover art, which fits directly into TBM's City Discovery direction: this is about exploring Tokyo through art, not just attending a single exhibition.

Art Week Tokyo connects an ecosystem of more than 50 art institutions and spaces across the city — museums, galleries, and other venues each run their own programming under one shared week-long umbrella, reflecting how Tokyo's contemporary-art scene is distributed across neighborhoods rather than centralized in one district.
