New Urban Arts Festival ARTE TOKYO Opens October 10 Across Three Tokyo Districts
新たな都市型芸術祭「ARTE TOKYO」10月10日開幕 東京3エリアが舞台に
Article
Tokyo is getting a brand-new, months-long arts festival — and the whole city is the venue.
Dates and Areas
ARTE TOKYO runs October 10 through December 31, 2026, across three core areas: the Waterfront Area, the Hibiya-Marunouchi Area, and the Yoyogi-Shibuya Area.
What to Expect
The program includes contemporary art and installations, architecture- and technology-integrated works, performances using urban spaces as their stage, and contemporary circus, alongside partner programs at exhibitions and performances across Tokyo.
Why "ARTE"
The festival's name comes from the Latin "ARS," meaning art and talent, and reads as "art" in both Italian and Spanish — framing a concept where technology, entertainment, experience, and the city's own ecosystem intersect.

What To Know
A months-long, citywide art festival spread across three very different Tokyo districts gives visitors a reason to explore parts of the city they might otherwise skip, with new reasons to return throughout the fall and winter.
The three chosen areas — waterfront, business-district Hibiya-Marunouchi, and youth-culture-heavy Yoyogi-Shibuya — represent genuinely different sides of Tokyo, which is central to the festival's premise of the city itself as the stage.
