"Tokyo Curry Expo 2026" opened September 11, 2026 at Okubo Park in Shinjuku Ward, bringing together 48 shops from across Japan — curry specialists, biryani restaurants, ramen shops, and even Italian kitchens — for a run of roughly 27 days, more than double the 13-day length of the event's 2025 debut.

Admission to the venue itself is free; food is purchased directly from individual stalls.

The "aigake" concept

The event's signature idea is "aigake": visitors can combine curries from two or more different shops onto a single plate of rice, rather than committing to one shop's full bowl. With 48 participating shops, that opens up a very large number of possible combinations across a single visit.

Not to be confused with a similar event

This is a separate event from the "Japanese Curry Festival 2026" running concurrently at Shibuya, Harajuku, and Toranomon Hills — different organizers, different venues, and a different format, despite the overlapping timing and similar name. Tokyo Curry Expo is specifically the Shinjuku/Okubo Park event.
