JAPAN GROOVE MARKET Brings City Pop, Vinyl, Art and Audio Culture to Osaka
「JAPAN GROOVE MARKET」が阪急メンズ大阪で開幕、CITY POPからTechnicsまで日本の音楽文化を発信
Article
Japanese record culture is taking over Hankyu Men's Osaka for a week — and it's about far more than vinyl.
"JAPAN GROOVE MARKET" opens September 9 at Hankyu Men's Osaka's 1F Main Stage, running through September 15.
More Than a Record Market
The event brings together new and vintage records, cassette tapes, premium audio equipment, art, fashion, and lifestyle goods, organized around two concepts: "FOR DEEP DIGGER – NEW & VINTAGE" and "FOR CULTURE LOVER – ART & GOODS."
City Pop and Japanese Visual Culture
The main visual is by Hiroshi Nagai, alongside giclée art and related goods. Also featured: Niagara Records official apparel, a Takako Mamiya "LOVE TRIP" T-shirt, and pop-ups from ANRI and CASIOPEA, plus HMV record shop collaboration items.
The Technics Highlight
The centerpiece is the Technics SL-1200 55th Anniversary Edition in a seven-color lineup — described in the official release as its world-first display and sale — alongside the SL-1200GME.

What To Know
The event treats Japanese music culture as something you can collect, listen to, wear and display. For City Pop and vinyl fans, it connects records to the artwork, equipment and lifestyle that surround the music.
Japan's record culture has remained strongly connected to physical collecting, specialist shops, audio equipment and visual design. City Pop's international revival has also introduced many overseas listeners to Japanese album artwork and vinyl culture.
