My Hero Academia Brings a Summer Festival Café to Four Japanese Cities

My Hero Academia is giving the end of summer one more festival moment.

A new collaboration café with and GALLERY opens on September 2 across four locations: Yurakucho in Tokyo, Namba in Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka. It runs through September 30.

The distinctive part of this collaboration is its 夏祭り — natsu matsuri, or summer festival — theme.

Twenty-three characters appear as specially drawn mini-character illustrations, with festival imagery used across merchandise. Character-inspired food and drinks are also part of the café program.

Why the Festival Theme Works

Summer festivals are one of Japan's most recognizable seasonal experiences: yukata, fireworks, festival stalls and people gathering in the evening.

Anime collaborations frequently borrow those visual traditions, turning familiar characters into seasonal versions that fans can see for a limited time. That makes the event part café, part merchandising event and part seasonal fandom experience.
