If you know Queen Bee at all, it's probably from an anime ending credits sequence — but the band behind those songs has a much wider, weirder sound worth knowing.

Formation and Sound

Queen Bee formed on March 31, 2009, in Kobe, led by vocalist Avu-chan alongside bassist Yashi-chan and drummer RURI. They call their own style "fashion punk" — a punk rock base that pulls in kayōkyoku, trap, funk, folk, and disco influences, making their sound harder to pin down than a typical rock band.

Anime Theme Songs

Queen Bee has become closely associated with anime theme songs, including "VIOLENCE" (Chainsaw Man ending theme) and "Mephisto" (Oshi no Ko ending theme), plus work for Undead Unluck, Dororo, Tokyo Ghoul:re, and Raven of the Inner Palace.

Avu-chan

Frontperson Avu-chan has also voice-acted in anime, including as the Devil King Zenon in Devilman Crybaby and the lead character of Inu-oh, bringing the same distinctive performance style to voice work as to Queen Bee's music.
