Tokyo Game Show 2026: Tickets, Dates and First Announcements
東京ゲームショウ2026──チケット・日程・初出展情報
Article
TBM has already covered Tokyo Game Show's 30-year history — this piece is the practical version: what's actually confirmed for anyone planning to attend TGS 2026 itself.
Dates and the New 5-Day Format
TGS 2026 runs September 17–21 at Makuhari Messe, Chiba — the show's first-ever 5-day schedule, up from its usual 4 days. September 17–18 are Business Days, open only to industry and press. September 19–21 are Public Days, open to all ticket holders; September 21 closes early, at 4 p.m. local time.
Tickets
Tickets went on sale July 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. A one-day admission ticket for visitors aged 13 and up costs ¥3,000, valid for one designated date between September 19 and 21. A new Black Pass tier has also been introduced for business attendees, including a premium lounge, a dedicated entrance, and admission on public days.
Who's Exhibiting — and Who Isn't
As of July 8, 759 companies had confirmed exhibiting — 484 domestic and 275 international — spanning 51 countries and regions, more than TGS 2025's total. Confirmed exhibitors include Square Enix, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Sega, Koei Tecmo, Konami, and Capcom. As is typical for the company, Nintendo is not exhibiting at TGS 2026 — Nintendo has skipped the show for years in favor of its own separate announcement channels, so this isn't a new or unusual absence.
What To Know
TGS 2026's first-ever 5-day format, landing exactly on its 30th anniversary, means fans have genuinely more time and content to plan around than in any past year — but it also means the usual two-days-of-business, two-days-of-public split has changed, which matters directly for anyone timing a visit around specific announcements or public access.
TGS runs as a hybrid business-and-public event by design — industry-only Business Days followed by Public Days — a structure that lets the show serve both companies unveiling new titles and fans lining up to play them, in the same venue, within the same week.
